After a serious car accident in 2001, I became a witness to the spontaneous healing that is available for us when we open and trust the Intelligence of our own system. When I focused my energy on embodiment, I healed my injuries. I was drawn to movement practices that oriented me around my midline. Yoga and pilates are supported by floating in the ocean and meditation.
I received my first Craniosacral session in 2002 and felt the narrowness of my injuries dissolve into a greater field of wholeness. My injuries were gone within a year, and I moved my focus from a path to be a psychologist to a path of becoming an embodiment ambassador, aka bodyworker. I was ready to learn how to help others feel their way back into their bodies and feel the greater Intelligence that guides us to heal.
I completed several Yoga, Pilates, and Thai Massage training and went deep into Anatomy and Physiology in the following years. I focused on one-on-one sessions with people in PT offices and several mental health facilities, as well as at the Yoga Studios where I was teaching. I taught a lot of rehabilitation yoga in small classes. I could see into people where they were not connected to their midline and causing injury. I didn’t think much of it until people started having big shifts from the adjustments to their posture I was offering. How were these physical alignments able to help folks with digestion? How were they reducing anxiety and helping increase focus? I had to explore more.
I eventually moved East in 2005, where I was met with cultures that had an integrated approach of mind, body, and spirit in their daily life. I spent the next 7 years, all my time and resources learning from Thai and Balinese cultures. I owe most of my intuitive abilities to my now passed Thai Massage teacher, Pischest Boonthume of Hang Dong, Thailand. He hounded us year after year to deeply understand what we were feeling in a body. I am so grateful for the transmission he gave me of sensing what is bothering a system and how to approach releasing blocked energy. He would yell, “Too much technique,” and then, “feeeeel.” Incredibly helpful since everyone has such a unique healing journey. We need to feel if we want to help.
In 2010, I started studying Visionary Craniosacral Therapy with a friend/teacher from the Milne Institute. I eventually went on to study for 3 years with Hugh Milne himself. I continued to see miracles, people opening and healing from Pichest to Milne, with my colleagues and friends and in my own practice as well.
While pregnant in 2015, I reconnected with Aquatic Bodywork and felt the depth of release available. I’ve done several aquatic trainings in Israel, Mexico, and California, and I will say it is a compliment to the land work of Craniosacral and Thai. I continue to mentor with Carol Agneesens, a Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist in Santa Cruz, CA and Aquatic Bodywork with Ale Ruiz of Mexico and Ways of Water.
Healers are receiving a lot of information right now, potent and powerful ways to help people get into balance. I try to spend a lot of time with other healers, always upgrading and developing our ways of helping.
Now, I have been in practice for 23 years. I know. Everything we need to heal is inside of us, waiting to be seen. I have a lot of different tools to reveal this beautiful process. I am so happy to be present with people from all walks of life, with complicated or simple stories, young and old. I attune and listen with love and confidence to YOU.
If you are getting a yes to this, I probably am, too! Please text me, and we can chat on the phone and decide together what the next approach is for your healing. I would truly love to hear from you!
Blessings,
Erin Kammerer
